Clothes worn by murder suspect Anxiang Du are likely to be covered in blood, according to the man leading the investigation into the deaths of a family of four.
Detective Superintendent Glyn Timmins today appealed for retailers to come forward if they believe they may have sold new clothes or shoes to the Coventry-based businessman.
Mr Du is the prime suspect in Northamptonshire Police's murder investigation into the death of the Ding family. The manhunt for him is the biggest in Britain since the search for Raoul Moat, who evaded police for more than a week after shooting his ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart, killing her new partner Chris Brown and shooting a police officer.
Jifeng - known as Jeff - Ding, 46, Helen Chui, 47, Xing Ding, 18, and 12-year-old Alice Ding were found stabbed to death in their home in Pioneer Close, Wootton at 6pm on Sunday (May 1).
Police immediately launched a murder investigation and have been searching for a silver Vauxhall Corsa he is believed to have used as a get away car since Monday.
The car had been hired by Northampton High School pupil Xing and has not been seen since Friday night when it was outside the Ding property.
It is a five door car with the registration, BG60 PMO.
Mr Du was named as the prime suspect in the case on Tuesday and yesterday police released CCTV images of him leaving Birmingham New Street station and arriving in Northampton.
It is believed he was involved in a business dispute with the Ding family.
Today DS Timmins released fresh CCTV pictures showing Mr Du getting on the number 15 bus from Northampton bus station at 1.07pm on Friday (April 29).

He is believed to have taken a seat towards the middle of the bus. A second image then shows Mr Du appearing to ask the driver if he had arrived at his destination at 1.20pm. He then got off the bus at 1.25pm in Wootton High Street.
Mr Du, who is described as 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build, was captured on CCTV wearing a white baseball cap, brown waist length coat, grey trousers, a blue woollen top, black leather shoes and carrying a yellow Adidas rucksack.
DS Timmins, said: "I would urge anyone who recalls seeing Mr Du at any stage of his journey to make contact with the police.
"I would stress the importance of any information from the public who have seen him since or know of his whereabouts to make contact either with the police incident room or confidentially through Crimestoppers.
"In particular I would like to appeal to retailers who may have sold him clothing – his own clothes are likely to be blood stained, sold him shoes, a mobile phone, who may work in ticket shops and sold him any specific type of tickets relating to travel, or work in hotels where he may have stayed.
"I would also try and spark peoples memories, in particular those who may work in local services, such as a postman or delivery men who may have been in the area on Friday or the following day. Even if you saw nothing out of the ordinary but were in the area of Pioneer Close we would like to hear from you."
He also revealed that the Chinese businessman probably had a large amount of money in his possession and that a note left to his family was most likely not a suicide note, but a 'goodbye' note.
Police also believe Mr Du could be anywhere in the country - or even the world, although there is no indication he has legitimately passed any passport control.
DS Timmins added: "I am working on the basis that Mr Du is still in the country but I can’t rule out the chance he has gone abroad."
Anyone who sees Mr Du or the Corsa is advised not to approach them, but to call 999.
"This inquiry may last days, weeks, months or years," DS Timmins added.
"However, no stone will be left unturned in bringing Mr Du to face justice and he has to realise that we are not going to give up."
Anyone with information should call Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
