BLISWORTH: Affordable homes event in July

Blisworth Parish Council is set to host a special awareness event to explain the benefits of new affordable housing being built in the village.
Representatives from South Northamptonshire District Council and developers Bromford Housing Group will be on hand to talk to people about the design of the homes and eligibility criteria for any would-be residents.

Honorary Alderman title to be reinstated

The borough council is set to re-introduce an honorary title for councillors who have served more than 20 years with the authority.
The move was announced by Nene Valley member and borough council cabinet member for community engagement, Michael Hill, earlier this week.

Drain cover thefts cost taxpayer £29,000

People are being asked to keep their eyes open for metal thieves after more than 100 drain covers were stolen throughout the county.
The warning comes from Northamptonshire County Council, which estimates the thefts have cost taxpayers around £29,000.
In all 118 covers have been stolen - at a cost of £245 each.

The borough council's Overview & Scrutiny Committee is asking for people to submit their ideas about what the group should investigate over the next 12 months.
