ELECTION SPOTLIGHT: Jonathan Nunn

In the weeks and days leading up to the May 5 election The Hunsbury Herald will be focusing on the candidates hoping to serve their respective councils in our area.
We have offered each candidate in our region - in both
South Northamptonshire District Council and Northampton Borough Council - the chance to write 150-200 words saying why they should be elected.
Next up is Northampton Borough Council candidate for Nene Valley, Jonathan Nunn.

Name: Jonathan Nunn
Party: Conservatives
Ward: Nene Valley

Jonathan Nunn has served the local area for 12 years as a parish councillor on Wootton & East Hunsbury Parish Council.
As chairman during the past six years, Jonathan has been responsible for some significant achievements, including:
  • Introduction of additional police presence within the parish and the wider Nene Valley area
  • Provision of activities and award programmes for young people to engage in
  • The Annual Walk in the Park festival
  • The campaign for, and achievement of, safer pedestrian crossing facilities for the A45 dual carriageway.
As well as serving the areas of Wootton, Wootton Fields, and Simpson Manor through the parish council, Jonathan has a good working relationship with the parish councils of Hardingstone and Collingtree, and is committed to working with them and other local groups.
Jonathan believes firmly that the role of an elected representative is to work for the good of the town and Borough area as a whole, but above all to ensure that the interests of Nene Valley residents are served.
Jonathan has made a clear commitment that, if elected to the borough council to represent Nene Valley, he will always be available and responsive to local residents’ concerns and wishes, will strongly and actively represent their best interests, and will work tirelessly to resolve the issues that affect them, ensuring that the ward receives its fair share of public services, delivered to the highest standards.
