WOOTTON: Police launch quadruple murder investigation

Two young girls were among four people found dead at a home in Wootton yesterday (Sunday, May 1).
Northamptonshire Police have launched a quadruple murder investigation following the discovery of the bodies in Pioneer Close, Simpson Manor, close to Woottton at 6pm last night.
The four, all believed to have been of Chinese origin, have been named as Jifeng Ding, 46, Helen Chui, 47, and their children Xing Ding, 18, and Alice, 11. The victims are all believed to have suffered multiple knife wounds. Police forensic officers are currently carrying out investigations at the property.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "We can confirm that we are in the early stages of an investigation into the deaths of four people at a property on the Wootton estate in Northampton.
"We were called to the property at approximately 6pm on Sunday, May 1 where, after forcing entry to the property we found the bodies of four individuals. We have as yet been unable to formally identify the bodies, and this is currently our main priority.
"The deaths are being treated with the highest priority and the force’s Major Incident Team have been deployed. Forensic specialists and other officers are on scene and are likely to be so for several days as we try to establish the exact cause and circumstances of the deaths.
"At this moment in time the motive behind the deaths does not appear to be due to burglary or robbery. Local officers are conducting house to house enquiries and are liaising with residents and local people to offer reassurance and advice over any safety concerns.
"We do not believe there is any risk to the wider public."
Both girls were users of social networking site Facebook, and a tribute site R.I.P Xing Ding has already been set up.
On Twitter, friend Karen Hollowell (@kazzieh) said: 'What a shocking story, the Ding Family were lovely Xing a very talented violinist terrible shock'.
Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 0800 0961011 or 0207 1580126 and ask for Operation Nene.
