ELECTION SPOTLIGHT: Phil Bignell

In the run-up to the May 5 election The Hunsbury Herald has have offered each of the election candidates in our region - in both South Northamptonshire District Council and Northampton Borough Council - the chance to write 150-200 words saying why they should be elected.
The latest is South Northamptonshire District Council candidate for Heyfords & Bugbrooke, Phil Bignell.

Ward: Heyfords & Bugbrooke

Phil has lived in South Northamptonshire all his life and for the past 32 years in Bugbrooke. He is married with three step children who all attended Bliss Charity school and latterly Campion.
He was elected to Bugbrooke Parish Council in 1989 and for the past 10 years has served as chairman. Election to the District Council will allow an opportunity to be further involved in the decision making processes which affect Nether Heyford, Upper Heyford and Bugbrooke.
Passionately committed to this area of the county, Phil has social and voluntary links to a number of local organisations. He is on the Management Committee of  Bugbrooke Community Centre.
Phil recently took early retirement and so has both the time and energy to devote to working with the three communities to tackle key local issues.
