We have offered each candidate in our region - in both South Northamptonshire District Council and Northampton Borough Council - the chance to write 150-200 words saying why they should be elected.
Next up is South Northants District Council candidate for Harpole & Grange, Janet Eliot.
Name: Janet Eliot
Party: Conservatives
Ward: Harpole & Grange
Janet has lived in Rothersthorpe for almost 35 years. She has represented Milton Malsor with Rothersthorpe, Kislingbury, Harpole and Gayton in varying connotations since 1995.
Her experience with the Council has included being chairman of the council and she is an active member of
the development control and licensing committees. She is also the vice-chairman of the service delivery scrutiny committee.
She has spent a lifetime committed to education as a teacher and lecturer and has been a Governor of Campion School having taught locally. She has used her experience and knowledge of what matters locally in her council work.
Janet said: "I have always, and will continue to work hard for the people of the villages, which is based on living locally and quickly responding to local needs."
Development control has always been on Janet’s list of priorities and Janet is determined to see that infrastructure is provided before extra buildings, if any, are added.
The integrity of local villages and their natural way of life must be preserved.
