We have offered each candidate in our region - in both South Northamptonshire District Council and Northampton Borough Council - the chance to write 150-200 words saying why they should be elected.
Next up is Northampton Borough Council candidate for Upton, Brian Sargeant.
Name: Brian Sargeant
Party: Conservatives
Ward: Upton
Northampton born, Brian Sargeant has lived in Northampton Town centre for the early part of his life, having attended local schools. He now lives in West Hunsbury.
Brian’s family have held Borough Council seats for many generations and Brian has been an active supporter of the local Conservative Party for over 30 years.
Now living on the edge of Upton, Brian has watched with mounting interest the development of this new area with all the challenges involved with a new development.
While many good things have transpired, problems have also been brought to note. If elected Brian’s role as your councillor will be to sort out problems for the good of all the residents.
Brian has a great interest in planning, as he comes from a trade background, which gives him a clear insight into the workings of the building trade at all levels. Brian hopes to achieve in the new part of the town a local environment for all to live in and enjoy, working closely with residents and the local borough and county councils.
When he is not busy helping the local community, Brian’s interests include the arts, antiques and motorcycling.
