ADVERTISE with The Hunsbury Herald

The Hunsbury Herald offers you a unique chance to advertise your business to residents in the area you work in.
The hyperlocal nature of the site and the stories run on it mean that our audience comes largely from those areas we write about; namely East and West Hunsbury, Collingtree, Blisworth, Milton Malsor, Grange Park, Wootton, Bugbrooke and Rothersthorpe.
So if you run a business in any of these areas then The Hunsbury Herald could be just the place for you to advertise.
There are two ways to advertise on the website.
The Hunsbury Herald offers picture adverts such as those already on our homepage and the example below, for just £5 a month.
If you are interested in a picture advert please email hunsburyherald@hotmail.com and someone will get back to you with more details.
Alternatively, it runs adverts through the Addiply system.
To advertise via Addiply follow this link
More information on how Addiply works can be found below.

Addiply for advertisers

  • Please note - your advertisement will NOT go live unless sufficient funds have been added to your account, even though your advertisement has been submitted.
  • How do I set up an account? It's a quick, simple process, click the 'Create an account' link in the login box to get started. Select 'Advertiser Account', fill out the form and click 'submit'. We'll then send you an email to activate the account. Just click the link in the email and you're up and running.
  • How do I advertise? First, you need to add some funds to your account. We use PayPal for all financial transactions, you can get an account here. Adding funds is a simple, secure process and you can get started with Addiply for as little as £10. Addiply is all about local advertising and our network is growing by the day. Once you've deposited funds, you can choose where you'd like your ad to go by browsing our publisher network. Once you've made your decision, click 'select' next to the site you'd like your ad to appear on and you can start to create your ad.
  • I'm making my ad, but it's asking me for a 'bid price'... Addiply operates a straightforward bidding system that allows publishers to set a starting price for ads on their site and lets advertisers decide how much they think an ad on that site is worth. This is the way Google Ads work, the difference with Addiply is that you, the advertiser, can see traffic figures for sites you're interested in advertising on before you decide where to place your ad and you can see exactly how much it's going to cost. It's a completely transparent system.
  • How does bidding work? If you browse the Publisher Directory you'll see how much an ad on each site currently costs, traffic figures and an estimated CPM (per thousand views). CPM is an industry standard for online advertising where ads are sold per 1,000 views. The starting price is set by the publisher, which is why it tends to be low to start with - it allows them to fill the slots on their site quickly.
  • How do I know what to bid? Each publisher has a minimum rate that you must meet, however if their advertising space is full then you can bid at a higher rate to ensure you get a slot. The fun starts as the bidding system begins to find the correct price for a site. Say a publisher has three slots and sells space at £5 a month. If you are one of the first three advertisers, you will pay £5 a month until a fourth advertiser comes along. They have to outbid you, say £5.10, in order to get their ad on the site. It's supply and demand, if you feel you're ad is performing well on that site, you can increase your bid. You obviously want your ad on the best sites at the best price. Addiply allows you to do that. It's up to you to decide if a site is worth advertising on.
  • What if I don't want to increase my bid? The beauty of Addiply is that if your ad isn't active on a site, you don't pay a bean. You only pay for what you get. So if you're advertising on a site and the slots become too rich for you, you could choose to sit it out, without making any further bidding, and if other ads are suspended by advertisers or they run out of funds, you could find your ad back on the site.
  • Where does my advertisement appear? If your bid is good then your ad will appear on the site that you had selected prior to creating your advert.
  • I've submitted my ad, when will it go live? You ad will appear as soon as the publisher activates the ad, providing you have funds in your account.
  • How do I know how my ads are performing? You can check the status of your ads in real time by logging into your account.
  • I've made a mistake in my ad, how do I amend it? Log in to your account and click on the advert you wish to modify. Make your changes and click 'save'. Changes will be effective immediately, without the publisher having to re-approve the ad.
  • My advertisement hasn't appeared. What do I do? Your advert needs to be accepted by the publisher the first time it is created. Once activated the only reason it will not appear is if your advert is suspended by yourself (by clicking the 'Active' link next to the ad in your inventory), your account has run out of funds or you have been out bid. NOTE: You must deposit funds in the currency required by the web site you are advertising on. If you advertise on multiple sites requiring different currencies then you must deposit funds in each currency.
  • Can I place more than one advert? You can place as many adverts as you like, on any site supporting Addiply. The individual publishers decide how many ads they want their sites, once Addiply is on a site, those slots need filling. It'd be rude not to.
  • How do I know when my ad needs renewing? Ads don't need renewing. As long as funds are in your account you advert will be eligible for display. You will be notified by email if your account has run out of funds
