Folk star Martyn Wyndham-Read is set to wow visitors to the city's Great kNight Folk Club next Tuesday (December 7).
The singer, who has more than forty years experience behind him, will play at The Old White Hart in Cotton End.
Martyn has spent a lifetime involved in folk music, since heading to Australia in his late teens where he first heard some of the old songs sung by station hands at Emu Springs.
The need to know more of them and where they came from grew and he started touring in Australia.
He returned to England to collaborate on the 'Leviathan' album in the late 1960's and the 'Maypoles to Mistletoe' project followed in the early 1970's.
Currently working with Shirley Collins on 'Down the Lawson Track', featuring stories, poems and songs from the great Australian Poet of the People Heny Lawson, Martyn remains as popular as ever. His latest CD, Jackeroo, portrays his life through songs both old and new.
Doors for the gig open at 8pm and it costs £6.
