Apollo Rotary on search for community project

A Northampton based Rotary club is looking for new projects to help improve the town and surrounding villages.
Northampton Apollo is searching for schemes that it can get involved in for the benefit of communities throughout the county.
The group, which is made up of young active members whose aim is to spend their meetings involved in a project rather than sat around a table talking, has reached the end of a number of projects it had been working on. President Elect Chris Lambert said: "We’re looking for projects that we can visit every four to six weeks that we can get involved in and will help the local community.
"We're looking for a mix of ideas at the moment, we don’t want to just do gardening projects, so things like tin shakes, litter picks etc.
"It can be anywhere in Northampton or the surrounding villages."
The group currently meets every Saturday between 10am and midday.
Previous projects have included working to improve Northampton Hospital's Spencer Ward garden, carrying out litter parks including in Hunsbury Hill, painting the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway Trust museum building and maintain the garden at Obelisk House in Kingsthorpe.
