WOOTTON: Don't miss out on library service

Come and support your local library - that is the message from staff at Wootton Fields Library.
The community library, which is based in the Wooldale Centre for Learning in Wooldale Road, Wootton, serves both children at Caroline Chisholm School and the public.
But staff at the Northamptonshire County Council run facility fear many people still believe it is simply a school library, meaning many residents miss out on the services it offers. Library manager Jane Carlisle said: "We are a community library meaning we are both a school library and a public library.
"We are extremely fortunate that we are a lovely library that has lots of lovely facilities and we offer a wide range of services to all our customers.
"As we are a community library we pride ourself on offering activities and events which will interest people of all ages - some of which we offer on a regular basis, others that are one off events or activities, for example we have had pop concerts in the library, a number of family fun days and a Shakespeare in 40 minutes event.
"The problem we have is that many people are still under the misconception that we are merely a school library and therefore they miss out on utilising our facility and attending our events."
People are being encouraged to give the library a try.
It has thousands of books to browse, as well as audio books and DVDs for visitors to choose from. The library also hosts lively Rhymetimes sessions, Fun Clubs and craft events for children, and every year it takes part in the Summer Reading Challenge.
Internet access and the 'Library to You' service for the housebound add to the offer.
