Venues asked to sign up for Heritage Open Days

Venues across Northampton are being invited to sign up for this year’s Heritage Open Days weekend.
The event, which runs from Thursday, September 8 until Sunday, September 11, celebrates the town’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or charge for admission.
Last year thousands of people flocked into Northampton when buildings of every age, style and function threw open their doors. Residents explored a range of buildings from manor houses to Quaker meeting houses, town halls to cinemas and parish churches to Sikh temples.
As well as having the opportunity to discover hidden architectural gems, visitors were also able to enjoy bus trails, river trips, walks, talks and exhibitions that explored and celebrated the richness and diversity of the town’s heritage.
This year the council is keen to sign up as many venues as possible in a bid to make this year’s heritage weekend even better for visitors.
Venues wishing to sign up or wanting more information can call Northampton Borough Council’s conservation team 01604 837637 or email conservation@northampton.gov.uk
