University event will put Britain's far-right in focus

The University of Northampton
Global politics, domestic crises and the rise of right wing extremism will come under the spotlight later this month.
On April 15, The University of Northampton will host the 'Hate Globally, Act Locally: England's Far-right in Focus' event as part of a resurgence of far right extremism in 21st century Britain.
Taking place at the Sunley Conference Centre on Park Campus, the event will include keynote talks by academics, activists and Government officials. The prestigious panel will include representatives from National Co-ordinator Domestic Extremism (NCDE) and the Public Order Policing Section (POPS), as well as the anti-racist Hope not Hate Campaign.
Senior Lecturer in History Dr Mathew Feldman said: "This symposium aims to break new ground by looking at the revival of right-wing extremism in England and the effect of transnational hatreds like racism, xenophobia and bigotry in stoking localised conflicts across English regions, counties and cities."
Presentations will focus on a variety of far-right organisations in Britain - all of whom have embraced the Internet as a propaganda tool.
The event costs £50, or £30 for concessions.
