ELECTION SPOTLIGHT: Ann Addison

In the weeks and days leading up to the May 5 election The Hunsbury Herald will be focusing on the candidates hoping to serve their respective councils in our area.
We have offered each candidate in our region - in both South Northamptonshire District Council and Northampton Borough Council - the chance to write 150-200 words saying why they should be elected.
Next up is South Northants District Council candidate for Harpole & Grange, Ann Addison.

Name: Ann Addison
Party: Conservatives
Ward: Harpole & Grange

Ann has lived in Gayton with her husband, John, for over 30 years. She is a former Gayton Parish Councillor, clerk to the parish council and president of Gayton Women's Institute.
Her grandson attended Gayton Primary School.
From 1987 to 1999 Ann was a South Northants District Councillor and the leader of the council for four years, representing Kislingbury. Since then she has kept up her interest in local government by working as the clerk to both Milton Malsor and Kislingbury Parish Councils, enabling her to keep abreast with local issues.
In 2007 Ann was elected as one of the members of the newly formed Harpole & Grange Ward comprising of the five villages of Gayton, Kislingbury, Harpole, Milton Malsor and Rothersthorpe.
She believes that by living locally, she will be able to respond quickly to calls for help to deal with problems encountered by local residents.
Ann’s aim is to protect the rural character of the ward, fight the ever increasing expansion of Northampton Borough and work to keep and improve local services.
