Ladybridge Drive play area designs go to consultation

Design One
Residents are being asked to choose between two design for long campaigned for play equipment in Ladybridge Drive.
The Friends of Hunsbury Hill Country Park and Shelfleys Parks have been working with Northampton Borough Council over the past year to develop design proposals for the equipment.
Following consultation with children and parents in the area two designs have been drawn up for the area close to Ladybridge Bridge adjacent to the car park. The new play area is being paid for with section 106 money - cash given out by developers to improve the infrastructure of an area in which they are working.
In this case the funds come as a result of the Westlake Development.
The final consultation started on February 16 and will run until March 18, with the two shortlisted plans available to view at www.northampton.gov.uk/consultation
There is also a questionnaire available on the site for people to use to submit their views.
The questionnaire can also be found on the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway website on http://www.nirt.co.uk/

Design Two
Design one includes a four metre high activity net, a variety of swings, roundabouts and climbers and exciting looking freeride and spinning tornado machines.
It is boats a Philadelphia Goal end, consisting of a football goal and a basketball hoop, and fitness equipment such as a health walker and a ski stepper.
Design two has an equally 21st Century look with the usual swings joined by a climbing wall, basketball hoop, rope bridge and a thrilling storm chase rotator.
The questionnaire asks people to simply vote the proposal for the new play area as very good, good, poor, or very poor.
Residents are then asked to add their own comments, before being given the chance to rate the two designs out of ten.
A final decsion will be made on March 25, after which it is hoped the play equipment can be installed in time for summer.
