An open meeting will take place tonight (Monday, January 31) to discuss plans for the 2011 Blisworth Canal Festival.
The event is due to take place on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 this year and a number of attractions have already been pencilled in.
Tonight's meeting at Blisworth Village Hall will start at 7.30pm and people are being encouraged to attend to give their opinion on the festival. Attractions already confirmed include The Cheeseboat, Towpath Trading, The Eco Boat, live music and a bouncy castle.
The modern version of the Canal Festival began in 2005 when residents celebrated the 200th anniversary of the opening of Blisworth Tunnel on the Grand Union canal, which runs through the village.
A further festival was then held in 2009 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the re-opening of the tunnel, following major repairs.
And the event proved so popular that villagers decided to make it an annual occurrence - with around 10,000 visitors attending last year.
