Lifeguard saves pet lover and pooch

A former lifeguard was among rescuers who helped pull a dog walker from a frozen lake.
Duncan Smith, 38, from West Hunsbury and his wife Samantha saved pet lover Michael Hollowell and his dog Millie from freezing water at Storton's Pit Nature Reserve in Sixfields on Sunday afternoon (December 5), according to a report in the Northampton Chronicle & Echo.
Mr Hollowell, 41, had encountered difficulties after trying to save his much loved pooch from the lake.
