Club to usher in New Year with two more Great kNights

Variety is the spice of life for the Great kNight Folk Club as it sees in 2011 with two very different acts.
On January 4 the club, which is hosted at Far Cotton's The Old White Hart, welcomes 'mad as cheese' (Old) Boy Band, The Prince of Wales Rattlers, while four days later double bassist and vocalist Miranda Sykes will take to the stage.
The 'Rattlers', left, are guaranteed to have any audience laughing and singing along to their unique combination of folk style Barron Knights, the Marx Brothers and a touch of the Spinners.
Described as 'great music and a great laugh to blow away those New Year blues', The Prince of Wales Rattlers are an act not to miss.
January 18 will see Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston, right, perform. Miranda is is best known for her mysteriously incongruous role as the 'third person' in the duo Show of Hands, but is equally adept as a performer in her own right.
She continues to surprise audiences with her musical versatility, and demonstrates her ability as a guitarist and interpreter of song, slipping effortlessly between genres.
Currently developing material for her fifth album, she has a strong repertoire of songs.
Rex Preston is a virtuoso mandolin player whose musicality and fluid style augments Miranda’s songs beautifully.
Tickets for both shows cost £6 and can be booked by calling 07879660523 or emailing gkfcnothampton@hotmail.com giving details of your name, postcode and the number of tickets required.
