The prime suspect in the murder of a family of four in their own home is set to appear on Crimewatch tomorrow night (Tuesday, May 24).
Anxiang Du will appear on the shows 'Most Wanted' board in connection with the deaths of Jifeng - known as Jeff - Ding, 46, Helen Chui, 47, Xing Ding, 18, and Alice Ding, 12.
The family were found dead in their home in Pioneer Close, Sampson Manor, Wootton on Sunday, May 1. It is believed they had been killed on Friday, April 29 - the day of the Royal Wedding. Northamptonshire Police - who have been searching for Mr Du since the bodies were discovered - hope the programme will prompt new sightings of the Coventry businessman.
Officers have tracked the route taken by Mr Du from Coventry to Wootton on the day of the murders, complete with CCTV footage.
They have also discovered a silver Vauxhall Corsa, believed to be the vehicle used by Mr Du to escape the crime scene, in the Edgeware Road area of London, but the suspect himself continues to elude them.
Police believe he may be living with members of London's Chinese community.
Detective Superintendent Glyn Timmins, leading the investigation, will be in Cardiff along with Detective Inspector Nick Gray, who will be available to speak with anyone who calls in with possible sightings.
A team of officers will on duty in Northampton to take calls and act on any information provided during the show.
Potential sightings continue to be received by the incident team and are all being followed up.
To date, however, none have proved to be confirmed sightings of Mr Du, who is known to have arrived in Venables Street, London at 2.27am on Saturday, April 30. At that time he was wearing a brown coat and white cap and carrying a yellow rucksack.
DS Timmins said: "I’d ask the public to contact us with information, however limited they feel it is, which can tell us where Anxiang Du is, where he has been or anything to do with the circumstances leading up to this terrible crime.
"It sometimes only takes a small piece of information to significantly move an investigation forward and I am very hopeful that Crimewatch can prompt someone who knows where Anxiang Du is to contact us."
