One week left to stand for borough council elections

Anyone interested in standing for election in May's local elections only has a week to get their nomination papers completed.
Northampton Borough Council's elections team is accepting nomination papers for anyone looking to stand as a candidate in the upcoming borough bouncil and parish council elections. Candidates must have their nomination papers completed and approved by noon on Monday, April 4.
Nomination packs are available from the Guildhall. For the borough council elections each candidate must be nominated by 10 people who live within the  ward they wish to stand. In the parish council elections candidates must be nominated by two people who live within the prish they wish to represent.
Each completed nomination cannot be accepted until it has been processed and verified.
These checks will take a few minutes, so candidates are advised to book an appointment with the council's elections team to make sure everything is done before the deadline.
Please contact Northampton Borough Council's election team for more information about becoming a candidate or advice about completing the nomination form.
The team can be contacted by phone on 0300 330 7000, by email elecreg@northampton.gov.uk or by appointment at the Guildhall.
