Representatives from Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Sport and Northamptonshire NHS have also been involved in the project. The website is a guide to all of the cultural and sporting activities that are happening in the area in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It also provides information on the pre-games training camps in the county, London 2012 business contract opportunities, Northamptonshire’s 2012 Strategy and the latest local, regional and national 2012 news.
Councillor David Mackintosh, county council cabinet member for strategy, communications and external relations said: "London 2012 might still be more than a year away, but in Northamptonshire plans for the lead up to the event are really taking shape.
"Organisations across the county are working in partnership to co-ordinate a series of activities and events to take place over the coming year as we aim to bring more music, sport and culture to people in the county.
"From art installations to sports events, the new website will be the best place to find out about what’s going on and how to take part or get involved. You can also sign up to the Twitter feed @northants2012 to hear the latest announcements as they are made."
Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited is a partnership between the public, private and voluntary sectors. Its purpose is to develop the county’s economy and to support job creation.
