Man detained under Mental Health Act after car chase

A Rothersthorpe man has been detained under the Mental Health Act following a high speed car chase in St Albans.
The incident took place last Saturday (November 10) after police in the area tried to stop a vehicle.
The man was eventually apprehended at 2.15pm in St Albans town centre after he mounted a kerb.
The 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, but no further action was taken against him.
Police say he has been subsequently been detained under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act.
