More than £9million of development cash from Grange Park will go towards improving services throughout the county.
West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) announced the figure earlier this month when it passed on £1million to Northamptonshire County Council to invest in transport schemes, including roads and bus services.
The funding comes through section 106 agreements which mean developers have to pay contributions towards the infrastruture that will serve their new homes. Since being established, WNDC has secured nearly £50 million through this process. The cash will be collected as new development progresses.
It includes more than £9m for the 450 home Grange Park scheme and £8.7million for the 550 home Princess Marina Development in Northampton.
Funding is collected during the course of a new development with nearly £4million received so far.
It will then be transferred to relevant bodies, including the local authorities, so it can be invested in infrastructure such as transport, education, healthcare and community facilities.
WNDC chief executive Peter Mawson said: "This latest funding transfer will be invested in vital local transport services by the county council.
"There is significantly more funding in the pipeline as we have secured nearly £50 million in developer contributions to date. It will be invested in local infrastructure ranging from bus services to new schools and healthcare centres.
"These contributions are essential to support growing communities and are just one of the ways we are raising funding to invest in the future of the area."
