War hero mum deserved more

In an exclusive story by Northampton Chronicle and Echo journalist Nick Spoors the paper has this week spoken to a Hunsbury Hill resident whose 83-year-old mother died in the Pakside House Nursing Home in Northampton.
Marie Robinson, 57, told the Chron her mum, Alzheimer's sufferer Doreen Sheridan, was neglected at the home.
The former war hero died there on August 4, 2009.
Her daughter said: "She sacrificed the most important years of her life for her country. She worked all her life and didn’t depend on the state and this is what she gets at the end of her life.
“All the Serious Case Review published this week says is that she was a woman who died but she did a lot for her country and she deserved that respect. She was not a statistic but a living, breathing person.”

The full story can be found on the Chron's website.
