Residents across the county are being urged to have their say on the future of its fire and rescue service.
The service's annual review of it's strategic plan is open to consultation until January 4, with proposals affecting the way it will be run over the next three years.
Northamptonshire County Council's cabinet member for community safety Councillor Andre Gonzalez de Savage said: "Our fire and rescue plan works harder to make communities safer places to live, work and visit and this plan is an important part of achieving this aim.
"This plan shows the excellent progress being made so far, with encouraging statistics showing that there has been an 11 per cent reduction in domestic fires in 2009/10, which clearly demonstrates that our prevention work is having a real impact. All at a cost that is currently £6million less than the national average.
"Fire and rescue serve everyone in the county so we want as many views as possible; please take your time to have your say on this important service."
People can have their say by calling 01604 797000, emailing service.improvement@northantsfire.org.uk, online via www.northamptonshire.gov.uk or in writing to Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Moulton Way, Northampton, NN3 6XJ.
