Trading Standards issue phone warning

The real deal:
Don't fall for counterfeit phones
A batch of counterfeit iPhone 4's have been seized by Trading Standards officers following reports the phones were being sold in car parks in Rothersthorpe. Northamptonshire County Council is warning people not to buy goods in car parks after officers made the discovery on Tuesday (February 22).
The counterfeits were seized by officers acting on intelligence that iPhones were being offered for sale from car parks in Rothersthorpe and Watford Gap Service Station on the M1. A council spokesman said that Trading Standards has previously received information that other goods, including power tools, furniture, 'leather' jackets, televisions and watches were being sold in car parks throughout the county.
The council is warning people that these goods often don't work, are unsafe, are of substandard quality or are over priced - and so shouldn't be purchased.
Anyone who is approached to buy such products, or knows someone who has been, should inform Trading Standards by calling 08454 040506 ot emailing via the Consumer Direct Contact Us page
