And a new monthly networking course is aiming to prove just that.
The Early Birdie Golf Networking for Business sessions will take place on the final Thursday of every month, starting on April 28.
The free events are open to any business and will take place at Collingtree Park golf club. Businesses will be able to invite a client or supplier for nine holes of golf followed by bacon rolls and coffee.
The idea is that the event will allow people to network with like-minded businessman, while relaxing on the golf course.
People can request to play golf with members of a company they would like to do business with as player lists are distributed before the event, while an Associate Member Referral reward scheme will mean that if a guest joins up they will receive a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne.
Golfers will meet between 7.30am and 8am for registration and a coffee before the golf. There will then be a chance for networking and a presentation session from the sponsors before the event concludes at around 11.30am.
Winning teams get free lunch vouchers for Greens Restaurant, while the losers don't go empty handed either as they will be given driving range tokens to help improve their game.
Associate Members of the club can attend every event, while guests can attend up to three times per year free of charge.
