That is the message from Northamptonshire County Council as it sets about the task of drawing up its budgets for 2011 and beyond.
The authority is inviting comments on both it's Draft Budget for 2011–12 and the Council Plan for 2011–2015, both of which have been drawn up against the backlog of millions of pounds of required cuts following the government's comprehensive spending review.
In all the county council will be forced to find savings of £136million over the next four years. The Draft Budget and Council Plan, both published on December 14, outline some proposals of how this could be done.
But the council is still asking for ideas and comments from residents.
It's 'You Choose' campaign was started in early 2010 and council bosses claim the draft plans have taken into account many of the views expressed by residents.
But a council spokesman said: "We are proposing some very difficult reductions in services as we can no longer afford to keep services operating at the same level.
"It is vitally important that we hear from as many people during the consultation period, as we all work together to find the best solutions."
People can comment on the plans up until February 8.
