HUNSBURY: Distraction bag snatch in Tesco Mereway

Police are searching for a couple who carried out an elaborate purse snatch in Tesco Mereway on Saturday (May 14).
The incident took place around 1pm when a woman was distracted by a foreign woman with a map, who began asking for directions.
When she stopped to assist, the offender entered her car and removed a purse from the passenger seat.

The woman asking for directions is describes as being of Mediterranean appearance with black hair. She was wearing a black head scarf and a black leather jacket.

Police would be interested to hear of any similar incidents that may have occurred elsewhere in the town.
