Serious crime falls in county

Serious crime in Northamptonshire has fallen at a faster rate than in any other part of the country.
Between April 1 and October 31, Northamptonshire Police reported an overall fall of 22.3 per cent in the number of burglaries, robberies and vehicle crimes.
The figures show there have been 5,226 crimes during that period - 1,498 fewer than in the same period last year.
Acting chief constable Martin Jelley said: "We are delighted with the news. Our county is becoming safer but we know there's still a lot more to do.
"These are key areas of crime, and we want to do more work on these areas in the years to come."
The figures revealed that there have been 2,978 vehicle crimes this period, 1,061 crimes less than in the same period last year.
There were 344 less burglaries this year than last year's total of 2,182, while the number of robberies fell by 93 to 410.
