Christmas spectacular in town centre

Santa Claus and his Harleys are coming to town.
Northampton's big Christmas spectacular is taking place at the weekend.
Father Christmas will arrive on the town centre at midday on Saturday - somewhat unusually swopping his reindeer for a fleet of Harley Davidsons.

Street entertainers in Abington Street, on-stage performers in the Market Square and a light parade will keep visitors entertained ahead of a spectacular piece of night-time performance art, consisting of an acrobat twisting and tumblers inside an eight metre high transparent candle.
On Sunday the Market Square will host a Frost Fair from 11am to 3pm.
There will be more than 1,000 parking spaces available in the Mayorhold car park throughout the weekend, and every weekend until Christmas.
Northampton Borough Council cabinet environment boss Councillor Trini Crake said: "We've put on loads of free entertainment to bring people into town and that, combined with free parking and a great festive atmosphere, should start our Christmas in style."
